Historic Lafayette Square Park with Jessica & James

It was a gorgeous day outside, I got to meet up with super sweet Jessica & James for their engagement session. I am really looking forward to photographing their wedding. Jessica is a June bride just like myself. I love photographing at Lafayette Square it is one of my favorite St. Louis area parks. It amazes me this park was part of the original Louisiana Purchase territory which was acquired from France in 1803. The park served as part of a parade route through the Civil War. It became a Victorian walking park and was full of beautiful floral paths, and people would cross the lake in a swan boat to take in the gorgeous park. In 1896 it was completely devastated by a tornado that tore through the area. However, now the park is glorious with amazing Victorian homes surrounding it, and the paths have been made alive again, with a lake and so many florals. It is such a treasure. I truly enjoy all my time spent at Lafayette Square Park. Thank you Jessica & James for choosing such an amazing St. Louis treasure. I can’t wait to photograph your special day!
