An adventure Engagement session in Eureka

When asking Marissa & Brian about their story … We met at a local bar in St. Charles, Missouri in December of 2015 with mutual friends. Both of us were a part of greek organizations at the school we attended, Lindenwood University. Being the millennials we are, we were on our phones playing a game that hooked with other peoples phones. We shared a few glances but nothing else that night. We frequented this particular bar and the following week it started over again. After parting our ways that evening, Brian decided to message Marissa on the game – this is where it all began. After hanging out with a friends for a few months, Brian decided to ask Marissa to be his girlfriend on March 20th, 2015.

After being together for a year and a half, Brian and Marissa moved in together in an apartment in Creve Couer, Missouri. They adopted their first kitten, Mila (whom was arguably supposed to be the only animal). Shortly after, they adopted their first puppy, Kali (whom was arguably supposed to be the last animal). Then on one quiet afternoon at Marissa’s work, a small little kitten was found abandoned on Halloween. And then, the last kitten was adopted into the family, Moo (whoops).

On New Years Eve of 2016, Brian and Marissa were out on a date to the Botanical Gardens, a walk on Main Street and a nice dinner to follow at Firebirds. Marissa had made it pretty obvious that she was ready for the next step and had gone to look at rings with Brian previously. And to her excitement, Brian proposed on Main Street that night.

Marissa & Brian were up for an adventure so we met up to hike over at Route 66 State Park together. The weather was completely perfection and we basically had the park to ourselves. I love meeting up with couples and just hiking around and finding creative spots where I think the light looks amazing. I am so grateful I get to do this. Capturing fleeting moments is truly important to me and capturing the love story between a couple and having their personalities shine through in their forever images. Marissa is back in Graduate school and doesn’t have a-lot of down time now but when they get a chance they love cuddling on the couch watching their favorite shows like This is Us, and cuddling with their super cute dog! I am so excited they trusted me to take their engagement session. Marissa and Brian have been together for over two and half years and are getting married May 26th next year.
