Columbia, MO Engagement Session

Have I ever told you all how much I love Engagement sessions? They are the very best! I love meeting with my sweet couples to practice an hour or two before the big day! We have so much fun together. It really is just a great time for me to learn more about you both and for you to see what my process of photographing you before your wedding day looks like. It is also so fun just to go out and have an adventure together! I love my couples that are always up for adventure but are laid back enough that they don’t sweat the small things!

It can feel awkward to have photos taken as a couple and often times my couples only experience with having their pictures taken are their senior portraits. I have been on the other side of the camera so it is important for me as your photographer to help you feel comfortable and even enjoy yourself. I am a true professional and will help you feel confident posing so we can photograph you in a way that is candid and captures your personality.

I have to tell you I had an absolute blast with Taylor and Amanda! They currently live in Columbia, MO so I packed up my gear and headed out West to Mizzou Country. I had never photographed at Hinkson Trail in the Grindstone Nature area before and I really enjoyed the beauty of that area! We were so fortunate to have the perfect night in June! I met them around an hour and half before sunset so we could photograph at the prettiest time of the evening. I can’t stress pretty lighting enough for your picture time. I love photographing gorgeous light whether it is natural outdoor light or even artificial light.

We started photographing in the Creek playing around the water. As we headed over to a beautiful field and the most surreal thing happened.  I was photographing them in the field and picturesque hot air balloon floated behind them! I heard Amanda shriek with delight and I started snapping away! I couldn’t miss this! It was completely organic and natural and I loved her excitement! It was such an amazing memory for her and Taylor to remember and treasure forever! Candid moments are everything, and I was so glad I was ready to capture that memory!

I can’t wait to photograph their upcoming wedding In St. Louis at Windows on Washington!

I am so humbled they chose me and my heart is so overwhelmed that I get to tell love stories!
