I absolutely adore days off with my kiddos and when it happens I love to get out and play with them. We started off with a yummy lunch and listened to Martin Luther King Jr.’s I have a dream speech. I love how passionate my kiddos were when the speech was on, and how much they knew. They also shared the injustice of Rosa Parks, and how poorly she was treated. They also talked about how Abraham Lincoln was a great President.
(We brought Belle our beloved bichon with us today, who is in need of a grooming terribly bad, so please withhold your judgement about our little moppy, adorable dog. I like to leave her coat a bit longer in the winter. She absolutely loves the snow, and after playing in it a-lot over the last snow storms she is a mess. Her grooming needs do not match my laid back life approach. It does make me feel better knowing she was warm, and played in the snow with the kids.)
The weather was amazing so we put on our hiking boots, and ventured off into the woods. Our family loves to hike and today we wanted to visit a barn that is part of the history of our family. The barn was built by Patrick’s paternal great-grandmother’s family.
What a wonderful barn, wish it was not being torn down. So thankful we got to visit it today…
xoxo,
Elizabeth
