St. Louis area wedding photography at the Vineyard

I absolutely love photographing weddings in St. Louis, but I love road trips to our local wineries. One of my favorites is the beautiful Chaumette winery in St. Genevieve. On N and J’s wedding it was glorious. The weather was perfect, and I was in heaven, what a gorgeous venue in the vineyard!

I loved N and J’s story. They were high school sweethearts, who have graduated college, and are declaring their forever commitment to each other. They were laid back, and enjoyed their time with family and friends. They were married outside in front of the barn overlooking the valley of fall foliage. The vineyards were full of grapes, and so  very plentiful.

With the venue being open it was hard to keep them separate,so upon leaving their villas they decided to go with a “First look”. A first look is a newer concept in photojournalism. It is a great way to document the bride and groom seeing each other for the first time, so that they have those memories forever.

It is a newer idea, and it is not for everyone, I really do enjoy doing them, and think it is important if you are in a position to be together before the ceremony.

So we went in front of St. Vincent’s Chapel at Chaumette. J was on the steps and walked down and tapped N from behind, he turned around and was so full of awe of J’s beauty on their day. What a sweet moment, it was so fun to be part of their adorable “first look”. www.chaumette.com
